The museum's objectives are to conserve an early schoolhouse structure; to preserve the history of the former schoolhouse on this site; to preserve educational and local artifacts that tell the story of life in this once cattle ranching town; to make us aware of our rich heritage in the United States and in Texas; to understand how far we have come in the field of educating our children, both similarities and differences; to provide a hands-on-experience in a one-room schoolhouse; and to develop some responsibility to future generations to reach beyond themselves and touch the minds and hearts of others.
