Looking back, the year 2007 will be remembered as one working with wonderful scouts
and volunteers on special projects making improvements to the Museum and expanding
the research of our community’ s history, as well as, reaching more than 5000 children
and adults in our unique living history program. I wish to thank the many individuals,
companies, schools, organizations, and foundations that have helped make this year a
growing success once again.

I really want to thank the many foundations such as Houston Endowment, Hamman
Foundation, Cameron Foundation, Brown Foundation, Trull Foundation, Herzstein
Charitable Foundation, Mid-America Arts Alliance, Lunar Rendezvous Organization,
Amegy Bank, and McDonalds for their financial support to our program and events. I
also want to thank IBM for their donation of a computer and monitor. These grants and
donations contributed to our achievement this year.

Our Museum collection continues to grow also. We want to thank Bertha Adams, Katie
Benoit, Frank Dick, Mark Dewalt, Peggy Fenimore, Carol Haney, Art Hewitt, Law
Offices of Kenneth C. Kaye, Attorney, Richard & Catharin Lewis, Sandra Maemgren,
Patsy Meade, Carole Ragland, Tommye Randolph, Paula Tanner, Doris Teets, and
Malcom and Judy Waugh for their donation of books, tools, cart, clothing, baskets, lace,
calendar, photos and other memorabilia that we can share with our visitors. With the
growth of our collection, makes it apparent that more storage space is needed and plans
are being developed to help this situation.

Our exhibit work took a back burner this past year, but we did present, “A Walk though a
Texas Home – The Dick House.” The exhibit highlighted the home and the people who
once lived in the only house in League City with a state marker.
Our summer was busy with Eagle Scout projects and with the help of Jonathan Mayor,
David Lee, and Chris Adams and their team of very special volunteers we made many
improvements to our Museum property.

We scheduled two special events in 2007, a Teacher’s Appreciation Open House for
teachers and their families to tour the Museum and enjoy homemade refreshments and
the annual Teddy Bear Parade for children to decorate bikes and wagons and march in
their own small parade. Both events were well attended and seemed to be enjoyed by
everyone.

Museum volunteers continue to make progress in organizing the Cemetery records, but
much of my time was spent working on the Yard Sale, October Living History Dinner,
the Ghosts of the Past Tour and the Society yearbook and ad sales. All events and
programs proved successful making 2007 one of the best.
